George Washington had the chance to make wearing clothes an illegal act in this country. Think about that for a minute. He also had the chance to change everything else. Instead, he did what he did and we’re stuck with it. I mean, this guy could have changed the country entirely. Today, there is this huge argument over whether or not women should be allowed to go topless in public. I vote YES by the way. Had George Washington made it illegal to wear clothes, then the argument today would be that women want to wear clothes. When you think about that, who knows what could have happened.
I was thinking about George Washington during the fourth of July. I was thinking about the Declaration of Independence and how everyone likes to quote the Constitution. I was also thinking about the fact that 86% (not a real actual number) of Americans can’t even spell constitution. Assholes. Anyway, I was thinking about what I would have done had I been in the shoes of George Washington during his presidency.
George Washington & Orson Wells
There is no real comparison between George Washington and Orson Wells. However, I want to tell you a story about Orson Wells that sums up my point of how America could have been different. It’s a quick story. Promise.
Orson Wells wanted to play Batman. He was going to produce, direct and star in a Batman Movie. He went out and got all the funding he could and some studio executives denied him of making the movie. They said that Orson Wells did not look the part of the superhero. He argued his points and ended up being denied anyways. Orson Wells went on to make Citizen Kane. A romance movie. Who cares right? Here’s why. Had Orson Wells been allowed to play Batman, things would have been different.
OH MY GOD WHO CARES…..
Here’s the thing. Since the release of Citizen Kane, Romantic Comedies were the movies that everyone started to make. It wasn’t until the late 70’s that Super Hero movies became the new thing to do. Had Orson Wells been allowed to play Batman, all superhero movies would have been made and Romantic Comedies would of just now been the new style of movies to make. Yeah, the movie industry could have been completely turned around and probably for the better. See, I told you it’s a short story.
How does that relate to George Washington
Just like Orson Wells story, George Washington could have completely turned the United States Of America around and the debates we are having now would be to un-legalize gay marriage. We could be protesting to un-legalize marijuana, or maybe even to start a war in Iraq. Ok, that last one was far fetched. You get my point.
All I’m saying is that George Washington had a chance to change this country by saying that all people are to be naked at all times and writing that into a bill or the constitution and he blew it. Thanks.
P.S. If you are in fact George Washington and you have a problem with this post, email me and I’ll give you my cell number. We can talk about this like adults!
