Did you know that your smartphone has a web browser built into it? Did you know that most modern smartphones have a voice to text feature built into the keyboard? That's right ladies and gentlemen, you can log into your WordPress website and write a new post by using your voice. I'm doing this right now and it is fantastic.I've mentioned Voice to Text blogging to the Las Vegas Bloggers group a few times. Tonight was the first time the topic gain any traction. We were discussing how to write … [Read more...] about I don’t type anymore. A story about voice to text.
At WordCamp Orange County, I had a chance to talk with Bridget Willard. Bridget expressed her hatred towards me every time I give her an answer of "GOOGLE IT". Every day since that WordCamp, I've thought about why I tell people to "GOOGLE IT". I say this all the time at the Vegas WordPress Meetup group as well. After many months and thoughts, I've come to an answer. I say "GOOGLE IT". I realized Google Built My Website. What does that meanGoogle Built My Website means I've spent countless … [Read more...] about Google Built My Website
Halloween is my favorite holiday. It's close to my Birthday and a free day off work in Nevada. My second favorite holiday? Cinco de Mayo. The locals call it the 5th of May. It's also the day I was offered an actual WordPress position at WebDevStudios.com. If you have read any of my post on becoming a better role model, you know this was the missing piece of the puzzle. So do a lot of other companies.https://make.wordpress.org/community/handbook/wordcamp-organizer/planning-details/fundraising/global-community-sponsorship-for-event-organizers/Let me get this … [Read more...] about I love you GoDaddy. In a previous post about becoming a better role model, I mention the ways that I've taken to become the best role model I can be for the Vegas WordPress Meetup Group. Trying to better yourself is the first thing I encourage everyone to do. Worse thing to happen? You become better at something new. Where's the harm in that? I don't see one.Stepping up my game in more ways Since my previous post, I've been super busy in the WordPress community. I've built two amazing WordPress Plugins to … [Read more...] about Becoming the best role model part two.
The best part of any WordCamp is seeing all of your friends. The worst part is leaving friends. This is the truth, any WordCamp attendee will agree. WordCamp San Diego 2016 was no different. Day one was a bit of a surprise. There was a room dedicated to plugins and a separate room for developers. Most WordCamp organizers will group these two together. The reasoning behind this is due to the second day of WordCamp being all about beginners and business. Again, most WordCamp events have these days … [Read more...] about WordCamp San Diego 2016 Recap Post
