Listen To: Pennywise – Victim Of Reality

Pennywise Land Of The Free

Every election day, I listen to Pennywise. Why? Their music is about sticking it to the man and how our government is out to get us. Pennywise plays fast-paced music. It gets me excited to get out there and vote. It’s my motivational music. It also reminds me how important voting is. Pennywise has been one of my favorite bands since the early 2000’s.

My First Pennywise Album

When I was 15 1/2 years old, I took a driving class. It’s required by the state of Nevada in order to get your drivers license. One day on my lunch break, I walked over to Park Lane Mall in Reno, NV. I found my way into Hot Topic. Yes, Hot Topic was cool back then. Well, cool-ish. I walked over to the cd listening station. There were two new albums I wanted to buy. One was called D12 World. The other was Land of the Free. As I was thinking about which to buy, I thought about a friend of mine in middle school. He was a fan of Pennywise. I wanted to be cool like he was. SO I bought the Pennywise album. It did not make me any cooler in school however, I’m happy to say that was the smarter decision.

I’ve been a fan of the band since. Even when the lead singer started a new band called The Black Pacific. Pennywise was also one of my first concerts I attended. I was a fun show and I got to watch the band play this song. It’s my favorite song by Pennywise. Since I bought land of the free, I’ve seen Pennywise 10 times in concert. They are a blast and recommend you to do the same. I would like to see them in their hometown of Hermosa Beach, CA. I think bands play a better show when they are at home. So many people saw them when they were playing tiny dive bars and punk venues.

Regardless, I hope you enjoy!
